I figured it’d be better to move all my Haven-related posts to a new site or else, everyone at my site wouldn’t hear about anything else. 🙂
And I threw in this new category for speculation and theories about what’s going on. Keep in mind there are potentials for spoilers.
How amazing was 4×08! I mean, Wow! Let’s start off with that final scene…
Nathan & Audrey’s Difficult Decision to End the Troubles
I’ve said it before, but Lucas and Emily killed this scene. KILLED IT. They just hit you in the chest with emotions. ESPECIALLY when you watch that scene without the cutaways. But we’re left off with Audrey holding the gun to Nathan’s chest and her taking a breath before kissing him. Then the entire episode ends on the gun shot surprising the Teagues, Jennifer, and Duke.
So what are the possibilities:
- Audrey actually shoots and kills Nathan
- Audrey chokes at the last minute and shoots away from Nathan
- Audrey is startled by something and shoots something else entirely
- Audrey changes her mind and Nathan pushes her causing an accidental discharge
- It’s not Audrey or Nathan at all, someone else is shooting at them
- Something else entirely
I kept rewatching the final scene and all I am sure about is that it’s not 1. As a star of the show, right up there with Audrey & Duke, he’s not going anywhere. Plus, Haven pulled this gunshot fade to black deal in the Season 2 finale, remember. When it picked back up in the Season 3 premiere, more had gone on that we hadn’t seen.
I can’t see a gun going off between Nathan and Audrey without a third party coming into the picture. So my money is going to go with 3.
“What was once your salvation is now your doom.”
Well if that’s not worrisome. Duke theorized that killing Nathan would bring doom but what if it isn’t killing him but Nathan himself? Crazy theory and one I hope is so false because Nathan’s my fave on the show and he’s already had it so rough. Actually, it’s really a crazy theory. Nevermind.
But how will this affect the Guard’s perception of Nathan because they were all on the “Nathan must die to pay for what he did” train. Will they go back to that now that he can’t help them stop the Troubles? After all, it is his fault they are in this predicament, right?
Just as I was with Wade, I am on the fence about William. There’s a theory that he’s the new Agent Howard or that’s he’s James. I lean more towards the Agent Howard theory. While Audrey was in the barn, William helped her to escape and told her she had to go through the door. I have a hard time believing he didn’t know that by doing that he’d be helping to unleash a great evil on Haven. So was he playing a part in it all? Is he in cahoots with Sinister and Heavy? Or is he a nice guy who wanted to save Audrey and figured she could stop them later on?
What do you think? On base with some of these? Way off? Any other theories? Share your thoughts below or on Tumblr or Twitter.
William as a foil for Nathan x Audrey
Again, you can’t get away that love is at the center of this story. Do I think William is a threat to Nathan and Audrey? Ummm, did you watch the morning after scene? Those two are had over heels in love with each other. I have never seen them so happy or smile so much. And did you watch that final scene of theirs? No way. You cannot convince me that their feelings don’t run deep. Nope.
That scene in the promo of William on top of Audrey (a scene I could have done w/o seeing) can’t be real. I refuse to believe that. I will stay here in the land of denial if it turns out to be true.
No matter what happens though, thank you SpeedWeed for giving us fans 1 minute of pure happiness for Nathan & Audrey. I’m living on that. lo
Note: William is written by Shernold Edwards! and Adam Copeland said this is his favorite episode of the season. Exciting all around!! Can’t wait for Friday
Remember my “Revisiting Haven” Spreecast where I’ll discuss all of this and anything else brought up over the week on Friday 9|8c on the Revisiting Haven Spreecast Channel.
ALSO: Some lovely folks on Tumblr, who also started the #pancakes campaign earlier this season, have put together the #renewHaven campaign. You can find more info here. Basically, what you do is use the #renewHaven hashtag often but especially during the airing of Haven on Friday.
